Hello 3rd and 4th Grade students! If you are interested in practicing for the Sevier Park Concert, please click here or go to the "At Home Practice Songs" link on your grade page. The lyrics are there for you to help practice and memorize.
Happy practicing! It is with great excitement to announce that our Waverly Belmont Elementary 3rd and 4th grade students have been chosen to join the upcoming 12 South Concert in the Park on Saturday September 10th at Sevier Park! The students will be the opening performance for the bands and will perform 2 songs they are learning in music class. We will meet at the Sevier Park Community Center Entrance at 4:30pm, perform at 5pm, and students can leave by 5:15pm after checking out with me. This event is free to all and a great opportunity for families and friends to enjoy local music and food under the stars. This will be a great opportunity for students to represent WB Elementary in our community as well as highlight their many musical talents. As full participation is ideal, this is a weekend event and I understand that some may not be able to join. Please note that this is not mandatory nor will it affect your child’s music grade. To ensure all students are accounted for, please fill out the form below and return it to the class teacher or Mrs. Walle by Tuesday August 30, 2016. Permission forms will be necessary to participate. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Thank you for your support in your child’s music education!
Dear Waverly Belmont Elementary students and families,
Welcome back to school! It was so great to see familiar faces and new faces today on our first day of school here at Waverly Belmont Elementary. I could tell our students had a very fun summer and that they were very eager to meet their new class teacher and classmates from the big smiles I saw in the hallways this morning. To our new families and students, welcome to Waverly Belmont Elementary! I am Alice Asako Walle, and I am the fortunate music teacher that gets to spend an hour a week learning and growing musically with your child. Please take a look around this website to learn more about the WB Music Program. This year, we have many exciting additions and changes to the WB Music Program. In the music classroom, some things were re-arranged as my goal for this year includes more hands-on technology lessons using our personal laptops and the Cleartouch. I also anticipate including more performances in our WB school culture during school, after school, and outside school as well. Our concert schedule will be different than last year's, but dates are still TBD so please keep checking this site and your class newsletters for any updates. My personal goal is to be more active on the blog posts to keep our WB families and students updated with the latest music class news. With our new technology based program "Quaver Music" included in this year's music curriculum, we have many new exciting activities to share. If there are any questions or comments throughout the year, please feel free to contact me at email: [email protected] or at the school phone (615) 800-7690 at extension 678-118. Welcome back and see you soon in Music Class! Musically Yours, Alice Asako Walle Due to the snowy weather last week, the 3rd/4th Grade Music Concert was cancelled as it is MNPS policy that anytime school is closed all evening events are postponed or cancelled. Thankfully we were able to reschedule to next week. Please mark in our new concert date... Thursday February 4th at 6pm! Letters were sent home with each student today with more information on dress code, time of arrival, at-home practice, and more. Please return permission forms by Monday February 1st. If you need another copy, click here. Thank you all for your help and flexibility! We look forward to seeing you at the concert! Happy New Year! I apologize for the absence with blogs, but I am happy to share that many great things have been happening in these fall and winter months! The 1st Graders had their Fall Concert in November and they did a spectacular job! The 2nd Graders put on their holiday concert in December and they blew the audience away with their singing and enthusiasm! The teachers and staff have been working very hard too and have put together a music video to share the Waverly Belmont spirit. Check out the wonderful Waverly Belmont Staff in this WB edition of the popular Pop.See.Ko! |
