Music at Waverly Belmont Elementary
The goal of the music program at Waverly Belmont is not only to nurture and develop each student’s musical skills and music appreciation, but also to instill the importance of developing solid intellectual habits of self-reflection, critical thinking, intrinsic motivation and individuality through music learning. In class, students will develop these habits through singing, moving, improvising, reading, composing, and analyzing a wide repertoire of music from different cultures and genres. Students will have opportunities to learn and perform on various classroom instruments such as percussion instruments, keyboard and recorders as well as meet and work with professional musicians. Our 21st century students will also be learning and working with our wonderful technology including laptops, IPads and Clear Touch panel in class. |
